Calling all Disabled Jewish Farmers! We’d love for you to join our community of disabled (or crip, Deaf*, mad, mentally ill, neurodivergent, chronic pain, chronically ill, etc) folks to gush and kvell** at our magic while sharing what it’s like to be a farmer (or to *want* to be a farmer) as disabled people—the woes, frustrations, victories, and connections we have with the land. We gather monthly with rotating facilitators and would love for you to join our next call!
Every month there will be a community-led skillshare on a topic such as animal care, hypermobility, or body/land liberation from a disabled Jewish farmer perspective.

New Queer Book Club
Youth OUTright presents their brand-new Queer Book Club! A book club for queer youth ages 11-24. This session they’ll be reading "The Spirit Bares Its Teeth" by Andrew Joseph White.
To be as accessible as possible, there will be two options to meet for the book club! They’ll be meeting virtually on Discord on May 28th from 4pm-6pm and in-person on June 14th from 4pm-5:30 pm at Firestorm Books! The book club will meet monthly on Discord and in-person dates are TBD after their first meeting in June.

Earth Guardians promotes youth leadership in the environmental movement, especially among marginalized groups, by utilizing education, training, community building, and direct action - shifting power into the hands of the next generation.

April Tourism Development Authority Meeting
At this meeting, the TDA will vote to accept the LIFT committee’s funding recommendations (or not), and we will know if the TDA is supporting the community’s ask for funds to be used for affordable housing.
Please note: public comment at these meetings happens AFTER board business and votes. If you want to speak to the TDA, you will need to email or attend an earlier meeting to make your comment.

Asheville Poverty Initiative Orientation for New Volunteers
Join the 12 Baskets Café/Asheville Poverty Initiative on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 am for an orientation with their Executive Director Dr. Ben Williamson.
Ben will lead an orientation session specifically designed for those new to volunteering at 12 Baskets Café. The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) Week, hosted annually by the National CACFP Sponsors Association, aims to raise awareness of how the USDA's Child and Adult Care Food Program works to combat hunger.
