Seeking Intern: Grant Writer
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Grant Writer to join our team. The Grant Writer will be responsible for writing and submitting grant proposals to secure funding from foundations, corporations, and government agencies. You will work directly alongside the Director of Development.
The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, is detail-oriented, and has a track record of successful grant writing.
Responsibilities:
Write grant proposals and reports that effectively communicate the organization's mission, programs, and outcomes to potential funders
Collaborate with program staff to gather information necessary for proposal development
Manage the grant application process, including drafting letters of inquiry, grant proposals, budgets, and supporting documents
Ensure compliance with all grant requirements and reporting deadlines
Maintain accurate records of grant submissions, awards, and pending applications
Identify new funding sources and potential partners
Stay up-to-date on grant-related trends, requirements, and best practices
Bachelor's degree in a related field such as nonprofit management, communications, or English
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write compelling and persuasive grant proposals
Experience with grant management software and databases
Familiarity with fundraising and grant-related regulations and requirements
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, and external stakeholders

Part-time work, expected to dedicate 8 to 10 hours each week
Compensation:
This is an unpaid internship. We are currently volunteer staff. However, if Beacon has acquired flexibility in funding by end-of-year, a stipend may be available depending on their performance
Location:
This position is remote, with occasional in-person meetings or events that the entire team is invited to attend if they wish
